Who is Lilith?

There has been this question ringing in my head for a while now. This question is, who is Lilith? There are tales that Lilith was Adams first wife. Lilith even appears in many other scriptures. The bible it states Genesis 1:27 "God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it." With Bibles I have noticed that there are many versions of Lilith's history. Below is another paragraph from a Bible.

Genesis 1:27New International Version (NIV) 27

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

This was before Eve was made from Adams rib.

I believe that the full story is never told, printed or shared. Through my research there seems to a puzzle that's missing so many pieces, no one will ever see the full picture.

I have recently been watching True Blood by creator Alan Ball. True Blood got me thinking of the possibilities, that maybe mythical creatures walked among us.

I'm now on season 5 and this is where I thought wow, who is Lilith?

In True Blood it states Lilith was created in gods image as a vampire, now wouldn't that put a spin on things. True Blood was put together fantastically, if you are old enough and love creatures, splendid acting and brilliant story then I personally recommend buying it and watching it back to back.

So back to, who is Lilith? In trying to find this answer I need to know how many religions Lilith is mentioned in. So in order to do that, I need to know how many practised religions are in the world. I found out in 2014 there were 4,200 active practised religions in the world.

There are many religions that are more known than the others, yet Lilith is mentioned through out them all?

Some stories say Lilith apparently fed on new born babies and the flesh and blood of men. This was probably Adams version of events after the break up.

This in turn has given Lilith loads of different tales of her existence.

From all the stories I've had the pleasure to see online, Lilith wanted to be treated as an equal by Adam.

Equal as they where both made from the same dirt and both made in gods image. Clearly there was a huge disagreement (not noted in any stories/bibles) and Lilith left.

Some stories say she married Satan. Satan/ St Lucifer/ The Devil or Chaos. Lilith was horrifying and loving all in the same breath. I wonder if she was treated as an equal by The god of Chaos? I guess so.

Where did Lilith go? Over the centuries there has been numbers of different variation of Lilith existence. There are paintings, stone sculptors and monuments made of Lilith. Lilith is still used in stories of bad and good, but the truth will never be known.

Lilith had many names through out history and those names changed depending on what story/bible your reading or listing too.

So always ask questions about your stories. Welcome the fact that all these stories we're told to follow, are just stories.

I only say this after realising that all these variation have been changed to suit the writer or author of the story being told. All these religions tell their version of a story and most told beautifully none of these stories are fact though!

Lilith is/was a strong woman and although she may have a lot of gossip shared about her. We will never know the truth, or if Lilith even existed
