Pandora opening the jar, letting out all the evils in the world.

According to Greek mythology Pandora was created specifically by Hephaestus and Athena on the instructions of Zeus. Zeus ordered Hephaestus to mould her out of earth and water as part of the punishment of humanity.

He then had Hermes give the mortal a deceptive heart, speech and a lying tongue. Other gods and goddesses gave Pandora special gifts too, Athena clothed Pandora, Aphrodite gave her beauty and Apollo gave Pandora the ability to make music.

Pandora in Greek mythology was the first woman on earth. She was taken by Zeus to Prometheus in vengeance, when apparently Prometheus stole the fire from heaven. Pandora's box, well jar contained all the evils or the worlds. Pandora became curious and opened the jar and all the evils flew out, supposedly leaving only hope behind once she had closed the lid.

This creation was Pandora, the first woman.

The Pandora myth first appears in lines 560–612 of Hesiod's poem Epic Meter

Could this be why there is so much evil and corruption in the world?

But I can not say it is Pandora's fault alone, as so much leaded up to this event. In all fairness the gods evolved are also responsible for the faite of evil being in the world.
