Science has always been one of my favorite topics along with mathematics. I enjoyed English but struggled with spellings and grammar. Now science and mythology of course don't always see eye to eye. This is stating the obvious, as scientific researchers use factual evidence, numbers and measurements for their conclusions.
The human body has been studied for years, the brain is where my interests lie. The brain is our control center, it does absolutely everything for us. I know i'm stating the obvious again, it's just online it states "myth" the brain only uses 10%, some humans brains vary and their brain could use up to 20%. Some scientists studies say that more intelligent the human, less of the brain is required. What i'm more intrigued with, is when does our brain stop absorbing information. I'm guessing it would be different for each person.
Now mythology has been around long, long before science. There are Greek gods and goddess of some intelligence, Apollo, Olympian god of knowledge and Athena, Olympian goddess of wisdom. The God of technology Hephaestus is the god of blacksmithing and technology, this is where all our technology has evolved from, Including all those computers that scientists use and hospitals rely on. I wonder how many people say thank you, to these three gods and goddess after something working out for them. Not to many now days I can tell you.
Now science has helped us evolve so much, in so many ways all over the world. But some lost their childhood beliefs of mythological creatures and gods, and science become a solid fact that things couldn't exist. Unfortunately however much I love science they could never really prove that anything mythological is not real. Some scientist would disagree that mermaids exist, but their is a team that have been researching them and actually found amazing evidence of their existence. Now obviously they are no longer pretty lady looking half fish creatures, all the years deep in the ocean and evolution would change you, if your species has the desire to survive.
The brain is an amazing, all the things we do in our daily life, your brain is doing all of that and more. Behind the scenes of your routine or day, your brain is doing so much more. all three of your Senses, thinking, touching, remembering, moving, breathing and more. Our brain is constantly working. Even when we switch off for the night our brain is still ticking over with dreams and sorting information you have stored. A bit like a computer. The most incredible thing is, if your brain is fully functioning fine, you don't stop taking in information until you get a lot older. Then the brain starts to close up shop for rest as an elderly person, maybe full of stories.
To wrap this up, the myth maybe correct, as our brains using that 10% for everyday things. But there are some people that are more extraordinary than others some are deemed as crazy, it may just be that more of their brain is functioning but they can't cope with the complexity of their brain, or their not believed by others. Everyone is different if gods and goddesses walked on the earth and had children with mortals, there maybe some humans that still have a small amount of these gods or goddesses in them, You could link them by interests, talents or skills. It's an interesting link up when you start looking.
